We extended our SMS 2800 service to enable our passengers to receive schedule information regarding all Egged bus routes. From now you can send a freely formulated SMS in Hebrew to 2800 and receive information about all Egged bus routes, both intercity and inner-city.

How to use this service? Send your SMS to 2800 and receive within a few seconds SMS reply which contains a recommended itinerary for you!

You can ask and receive information about:

• departure and arrival times
• connection points and estimated waiting time
• trip duration for each trip segment
• boarding and destination points
• schedule information: 7 days in advance before your planned trip

You can ask also for:

• fares information
• first or last departure times
• any intercity bus route schedule by sending only route number

No needs to send the date or time. You will receive the next departure times for today  

The system operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is available in Hebrew only.

The system does not support the questions with descriptions longer than 70 characters, including spaces
 
This is the first possibility in Israel to formulate the information requests directly without memorizing codes and primarily defined parameters, which will upgrade the passengers' access to the national information system and will allow them permanently operate such a user -friendly service.

How does it operate?

Send your freely formulated SMS question in Hebrew (including abbreviations) to number 2800 and will receive the reply within a few seconds.

By means of the innovative technology, the system understands the question and replies to the sender by sending SMS

How much does it cost?

Each request (should not be longer than 70 characters) including two SMS messages (question and reply) costs NIS 1*. The cost of additional clarifications is equal.

What is coming in the future?

After the installation of GPS antenna on each bus the Next Bus Egged system will allow receiving real time information about the arrivals of Egged buses to each station on the route by means of sending SMS request and receiving a prompt reply.
