Accessibility features on city buses
- A wide entrance door, adapted for wheelchair access.
- The international accessibility symbol ♿ appears on the front of the bus and near the wheelchair-accessible door.
- A lifting device (ramp) is installed at the second door for the entry and exit of passengers with wheelchairs, including a safety mechanism that prevents the bus from moving while the ramp is open.
- A designated anchoring area with a safety belt for securing a wheelchair.
- A tilt mechanism that allows the driver to lower the height of the bus on the curb, making it easier to get on and off.

Accessibility adjustments on intercity buses
Egged's intercity buses feature a high floor, stairs at the entrance and narrow aisles. In accordance with the regulations, they are required to be sensory accessible, but are not required to be adapted for wheelchair access.
Accessibility features on intercity buses

- Hand-grips and stop buttons are marked in visual contrast. Stop buttons will also be in tactile contrast to their surroundings.
- As close as possible to the bus entrance, two seats are allocated for people with disabilities. The seats are marked with accessibility symbols. In addition, two adjacent seats, without footrests in front of them, are provided for a person with a disability accompanied by a service animal, with the designated space for the service animal being on the floor in front of the aforementioned seats which will be marked with accessibility symbols for the visually impaired.

- An electronic sign displaying the name of the next stop.
Intercity buses with a wheelchair lift
Egged is a partner in a pilot program for making intercity public transportation accessible, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the National Public Transport Authority. As part of the program, accessible intercity buses have been integrated into the service lines, equipped with an electric lift for the safe loading and unloading of wheelchair-bound passengers.
Please note: this type of bus can accommodate only one wheelchair passenger. Therefore, travel on these lines requires reserving a seat in advance.
