New! Credit Card Validation on Egged Buses
Service Start Dates: January 11, 2026, in Eilat, and starting January 18, 2026, also in Jerusalem and Haifa.
Areas: Eilat, Jerusalem, and the Haifa Metropolitan Area.
At the beginning of 2026, a pilot for credit card payments will launch on Egged bus lines in Eilat, Jerusalem, and Haifa. This means you can board the bus and pay for your ride directly at the validators using a physical credit card, or via a digital wallet (Apple Pay and Google Pay) on your phone or smartwatch.
This option is an additional solution designed to make boarding easier, especially for passengers who don't have a Rav-Kav card or a payment app available at that moment. It is another payment method that offers flexibility and simplicity, alongside the existing payment options.
Just place your credit card, phone, or smartwatch on the device, validate, and enjoy the ride.
Credit Card Payment FAQ
What is a Rav-Kav card?
The Rav-Kav Card is a reloadable, reusable, personal card and is non-transferable.
The card is embossed with the cardholder's name and photo and replaces paper tickets previously used.
The card may be reloaded in accordance with your legal rights, and each passenger must duly validate their journey.
Types of Rav-Kav cards
Please note: You must arrive in person at the "Al HaKav" service points with a valid form of identification: an Israeli ID card, driver's license, or Israeli passport. When a profile expires (such as student or youth profiles), you can no longer use tickets or passes that were loaded with a discount based on that profile. Students wishing to change their status to "Regular Student" (33% discount) are required to present a valid student ID and a current certificate of enrollment.
