Privacy Policy – Digital Interfaces Egged Group
The privacy policy is written in the masculine form for convenience only, and is intended for all genders.

General
The Egged Group (Egged Transportation Company Ltd., Derech Egged Jerusalem Ring Ltd., Egged Holdings Ltd., Egged Heseim Ltd., Egged Golan Heights Ltd., Egged Metro Ltd., - together, “the Group”) operates the egg app ("the App") and the Call Bus app (“the Call Bus app"), in addition to the websites at the addresses:

(The App, the Call Bus App and the websites are hereinafter referred to collectively as "the Digital Interfaces").
The Group respects your privacy, as well as the privacy of all users of the Digital Interfaces (״the User״ or ״the Users״).
The purpose of this policy is to detail what personal information is collected during your use of the Digital Interfaces, how it is collected, and the purposes for which it is processed.
Use of the Digital Interfaces is subject to this privacy policy, which forms an integral part of the terms of use of the App or the websites, available here (together ״the Terms of Use״), and an integral part of the terms of use of the Call Bus App, insofar as applicable to that app. Use of the Digital Interfaces will indicate your consent to the Terms of Use as stated. Please note that for specific services and/or applications different rules may apply, in which cases the terms of use and privacy policy of that service will apply, as published in connection therewith.
Please also note that the Group may change the terms of this policy from time to time to reflect technological, business, legal, or regulatory changes. Updates to the privacy policy as stated will be published in this document, which will be available in its updated form on the Digital Interfaces; therefore, it is recommended to review the privacy policy from time to time before using the Digital Interfaces.
Information collection and its delivery to Egged in the Digital Interfaces
Information collection by Egged
During the use of the Digital Interfaces and the services offered on them, information about you will be collected as detailed below (״the Information״):
Registration for the Call Bus App: When registering for driver messaging services, you will be asked to provide a mobile phone number, and the eligibility code you received from the Center for the Blind in Israel.
Route planning: Search details (origin-destination), estimated time of arrival, and if a route is selected, the details of the selected route.
Location data: Subject to your approval on the mobile device, the location data of your device will be collected as well and used also for the purpose of sending offers and communications to encourage the use of public transportation and/or the use of the Digital Interfaces.
Contacting the Group companies: According to public inquiries on the Digital Interfaces – full name, phone, email address, ID number, Rav-Kav number, line number, content and details of the inquiry and/or details of the event.
Accessible-ride seat reservation: Ticket type, origin and destination, details of the passenger including full name, phone number, email address, ID number, Rav-Kav number and/or payment method details, date and line. It is clarified that the full credit card details are not stored by the Group but by the dedicated payment processor, who complies with the PCI DSS security standard, for the purpose of payment processing (for the payment processor’s privacy policy, see https://hyp.co.il/privacy-policy).
Inquiries regarding insurance or claims for compensation: Inquiries will be submitted via email in accordance with the instructions on the Digital Interfaces. The inquiry will include details of the inquiry and the event, bank account ownership certificate, various corroborating documents, vehicle license, photos or videos, repair invoices and other supporting documents as applicable. Please note that some inquiries, such as inquiries regarding personal injury, will be submitted by you directly to the company that insures the Group companies.
Information collected in connection with job applications with the Group: Full name, phone number, preferred work region, resume and professional experience, and ID number. Technical information and digital identifiers: Technical details that are automatically collected when browsing the websites or when using the App or the Call Bus App, such as browser type and/or end device, IP address, browsing habits and usage data. These data will be collected using automated tools, see further details in section 4 below (regarding ״cookies״).
The information, except for validation data as defined below, will be stored in the Group's databases, in Israel and/or abroad, including through "cloud״ services (storage on a remote server), and including in the United States). It is clarified that, as a general rule, you are not legally obligated to provide the information, and its provision depends solely on your free will and consent. However, please note that:
- When requesting some of the services, you may be asked to provide information that the Group is required to collect by law (such as in an insurance inquiry).
- Even when there is no legal obligation to provide information, we may not be able to provide some or all of the services, without the provision of details. For example, without providing the required details in an inquiry to us, including regarding insurance, we will not be able to handle the matter or get back to you with a response, and without providing the required details when submitting a job application, we will not be able to evaluate your suitability.
- You may be requested to allow access to certain services from your device, whether a computer, mobile phone or any other end device, for the purpose of performing certain actions (for example, access to your device's location data, or to payment methods saved on the device). Granting permissions depends on you, and you may choose not to approve access permissions to services or data from your device; however, if you do not grant permission, some of the services may not be available to you.
When providing information, you must provide and/or update correct, complete, reliable and accurate information, solely in your own name and behalf, and not in the name and/or behalf of third parties, except in cases where you have been expressly authorized to do so in writing.
When contacting us, please refrain from providing sensitive information, such as credit card details, medical information, identifying certificates, or any other sensitive information, unless you have been explicitly asked to do so.
The Group will retain your information for the period of time necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. You can receive exact details of the duration of information retention by contacting the Group using the contact details below.
Information collection by HopOn on the egg app
The Rav-Kav validation and loading services, including the creation of the profile within them, are provided by an authorized operator on behalf of the Ministry of Transport - HopOn Mobility Israel Ltd. (Company No. 516071966) ("HopOn"). The information collected within these services, as detailed below, is not stored in Egged’s databases or transferred to them, and does not form part of its databases (״validation data״). The validation data are provided directly to HopOn, in accordance with the Ministry of Transport's tender conditions, and to the Ministry of Transport, as detailed in HopOn's terms of use and privacy policy, available here.
Validation data include
Profile data: Full name, profile type and requested service. When selecting a beneficial profile (such as a senior citizen, student, etc.), you will be asked to provide references attesting to your eligibility for the beneficial profile, including certificates and approvals.
Validation and travel data: These data include all the information accumulated in connection with the payment and validation of trips on public transportation, including access points, time and date of validation, number of passengers, Rav-Kav loading and use, and payment details.
Information collection by Moovit
Some of the Call Bus App’s services are provided to you by Moovit App Global Ltd. (Company No. 514677319) ("Moovit”), which collects information regarding registration for the Call Bus App, route planning, location data, contacting the Group companies, and technical information and digital identifiers as detailed above. As stated, this information is stored by Moovit, while Egged is the owner of the database. Purposes of using the information
We collect the information for the purposes detailed below:
- Operation, management and provision of the services provided on the Digital Interfaces and on interfaces related to them and/or services provided by the Group.
- Providing service to the Users, including contacting you for the purpose of providing the services, managing and streamlining the contact with you, responding to inquiries and conducting satisfaction surveys, as well as contacting you by direct mailing and personalized inquiries to encourage travel on public transportation and/or use of the Digital Interfaces.
- Performing operational controls and improving the services and content on the Digital Interfaces and the services provided by the Group.
- Security and safety, detection and repair of faults, prevention of fraud and any illegal activity, and for information security purposes.
- Commercial, marketing and statistical purposes, including research and characterization.
- Screening and recruitment of candidates for employment with the Group as detailed in the Privacy Policy for Job Applicants.
- Ensuring compliance with the provisions of the law, enforcing these Terms of Use, collection, managing legal disputes and resolving conflicts.
The Group may send you operational messages, alerts and updates in various ways, by email, by instant messaging applications (such as WhatsApp), or via test messages, including by way of direct mailing.
In addition, the Group will be entitled to send, from time to time, by email, by WhatsApp, by text messages, and/or via other means of communication, marketing and promotional information and offers for benefits, in accordance with the law and/or subject to your consent.
As part of using the App or the Call Bus App, you may approve receiving updates directly to your mobile device (push notifications) – if you do so, Egged will send such updates to you from time to time.
If you wish to opt out of receiving direct mailing or promotional mailing, you can do so by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link, if any, in the body of the message or by contacting us using the contact details appearing at the end of this policy document, or in accordance with other removal instructions that may appear in the message.
Use of artificial intelligence (AI)
Please note, the customer service bot and the route planning recommendation bot use artificial intelligence (AI) technologies which are provided with the aid of external providers. Information you provide in the course of using these services will be processed automatically, including by transcribing voice to text (and vice versa) and/or effective identification of the service requested by you (intent recognition) and providing an optimal response, for the purpose of providing the service, improving the service and/or adapting it to your needs, including streamlining the Group's operational processes.
Cookies
For your information – in providing the services, the Group uses information-gathering software, cookies and the like, such as pixels, tags, SDKs, web beacons, and more (together, “cookies“). Cookies, in general and in essence, are text files that a user’s browser or application creates according to a command from the Group's computers. Some cookies will expire when you close the relevant application or applet, and others are saved on the memory of your device or browser.
The processing of the information collected through the use of cookies is done for the purpose of operating the Digital Interfaces and for their ongoing and proper functioning, to secure the data and information provided, to save your browsing and usage preferences, inter alia in order to collect statistical data about the use of the services, including by means of heat maps, to make decisions regarding your profile and/or your activity, to verify details and identification, to prevent frauds and scams, to improve user experience in using the services, while adapting the content and services to your personal preferences, to characterize the services suitable for you and to customize advertisements and content relevant to you. The processing of the information collected through the cookies is done for operational, statistical, research, marketing, service and commercial purposes, and, of course, for information security purposes.
The cookies contain and collect diverse information such as the pages you have visited, the duration of time you have spent on the Digital Interfaces, your IP address, the characteristics of your end device, and more. Cookies may also store information about your browsing habits on other websites, including the websites you have browsed, the pages on the websites, and any other action you take on them. The information in cookies is encrypted, and the Group takes precautions to ensure that only its computers or those of someone on its behalf can read and understand the information stored in them.

Transfer of information to third parties
The Group may transfer information to third parties in the following cases:
- At the User’s request and with their consent.
- To service providers/consultants for the purpose of operating and providing the services on the Digital Interfaces and the activities of the Group companies in general, and for the purposes of processing information as detailed in this policy, including, but not limited to, technology system providers, artificial intelligence (AI) service providers, providers of control and security cameras, lawyers and accountants, information storage providers (in Israel and abroad), credit card clearing and payment providers, providers of support and service improvement services, digital invoice generation service providers, marketing message delivery providers, providers of targeted and personalized advertising in various media, and more.
- As part of its activity with business-related companies for the purpose of providing the services to you, as well as for the purposes of use stated above.
- For the purpose of enforcing the terms of use on the Group's Digital Interfaces, legal disputes, and the violation of the provisions of any law.
- When there is a legal obligation to provide the information, including to the Ministry of Transport or any other competent authority, or by virtue of an order directing its provision.
- In any case where a Group company believes that the provision of the information is necessary in order to prevent damage to the company, to its employees and/or to the property and/or person of the User and/or third parties, or in order to prevent other damage at its sole discretion.
- In the event that a Group company transfers and/or sells and/or assigns all or part of its activities to a third party, including the transfer of information within the Egged Group and between its various companies, and in cases of the transfer of control thereof, in whole or in part, including in a merger, restructuring or acquisition.
- The Group may provide statistical information and information from third-party cookies to third parties, including advertisers, subject to the terms of this privacy policy and the provisions of any law. In any case, statistical information provided to third parties will not personally identify the user.
External links
Within the Digital Interfaces or the services offered thereon, various links to external websites, applications or services may appear, such as links to WhatsApp, to pages on various social networks (such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.), or links within advertisements or references to other sites (together, ״external links״).
Clicking on external links will be done at your sole discretion and responsibility, as you will leave the website and be redirected to an application external to the website, and you will be subject to its terms, including its privacy policy. From that point on, the Egged Group and/or anyone on its behalf will have no control over what is done with your information, and accordingly will not bear any responsibility in this regard.
Safety recommendations and conditions for contacting us via the WhatsApp service:
- WhatsApp conversations are saved on your device until you independently delete them.
- It is recommended to set a device lock in order to restrict access to the content of the conversation.
- If you have set up backups on WhatsApp, be aware that these are not end-to-end encrypted.
- WhatsApp allows you to view the content of conversations on other devices (computer, tablet – via WhatsApp Web). If you have selected this option, it is recommended to disconnect after use.
- If you contact us via the WhatsApp service, the Egged Group will be able to contact you with related future inquiries or on service matters.
- Please refrain from providing particularly sensitive information such as credit card details, bank account numbers or other sensitive personal details.
- Keep the account access details confidential.
- For security purposes, please regularly update the WhatsApp application on your device to the latest version.
Information security
The Group companies apply generally accepted security measures to protect the personal information of the Users and take appropriate precautions, but the Group cannot guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized intrusion. In any case of concern regarding information security on the Digital Interfaces, we ask that you update us using the contact methods below.
User rights
Under the Privacy Protection Law, users have the right to request to review the personal information collected about them, as well as the right to request to correct, complete or delete it if they find that it is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate, as detailed in this policy and subject to any law.
Also, if a direct mailing message was sent to you, you have the right to request to remove yourself from the direct mailing list, using the removal methods specified in the message, or by contacting us.
