To get started, all you need is to meet the following prerequisites:

• 21 years of age or older
• A valid private vehicle driving license (Category B) with at least two years of driving experience
• No criminal record

Three steps – and you’re at the wheel of a new career

Step 1 – Admission requirements and submitting documents

• Filling out an online "Green Form" (Tofes Yarok) on the Ministry of Transport website
• Eye exam – Click here for the list of vision testing branches
• Presenting a valid private driving license (with at least two years of experience)

Step 2 – Theoretical studies

• Intensive course of about 148 academic hours
• Morning classes – about a month | Evening classes – about two and a half months
• Subjects taught: Traffic laws, safety, transporting children, first aid, geography of Israel, human relations, and more
• Upon completion: A certificate from the Ministry of Economy

Step 3 – Driving lessons and practical test

• Practical driving lessons on a bus (20–40 lessons, depending on your previous license category)
• Practical licensing exam by the Ministry of Transport
• Receiving a public vehicle driving license (Category D) – and you start working!
