    The Largest Charging Station Farm in the World is being Built in Haifa

    Egged, in collaboration with the Public Transportation Authority, is starting to electrify urban public transport in the peripheral areas. The first two cities that will become “evergreen” will be Dimona and Carmiel, where urban public transport will be operated solely by means of 30 electric buses (in each city) starting next year. The success of the project will be a cornerstone for the continued electrification of urban transport in the peripheral areas. And, in parallel – we are gearing up to prepare a charging infrastructure for 235 electric buses that will be operated in the major metropolitan areas and in Rishon Lezion, starting this year.

    Jerusalem: as of August 24, 2018 bus drivers will no longer fill Rav-Kav cards

    Regulations have recently changed and today, the only means of payment on a bus will be a pre-loaded Rav-Kav. Senior citizens only will be able to purchase via driver a single paper ticket or recharge Rav-Kav with a day pass. Besides, passengers who have no pre-loaded Rav-Kav can buy from the driver paper one multi-ride ticket loaded anonymous Rav-Kav card (price 10.90 NIS).

    According to the Transportation Ministry’s decision, as of March 8 2018, bus drivers in Jerusalem will no longer load Rav-Kav travel cards. Passengers will have to ensure that their cards are loaded before they board a bus. To smooth the transition to the new system, there will still be three purchases that passengers may make from the driver using cash on board the bus as of March 8: One day pass; Single trip; Anonymous Rav-Kav card.
