Are there any travel discounts for soldires?

Soldiers in uniform with the certificate of enlisted soldier can travel free of charge on all bus lines except for Eilat lines.

Are wheelchairs or mobility scooters allowed on bus?

Persons with reduced mobility who wish to take their wheelchair or mobility scooter on our city bus services may use the rear door ramp if the dimensions of wheelchair or scooter do not exceed 75 cms (width), 120 cms (depth) and 130 kgs (weight)

Whish bus routes in Israel use low-floor buses?

Starting January 1, 2015 all city routes use low-floor buses. To find out if the bus will be accessible to someone who is disabled, please call our Customer Services team on *2800, and we will check if an easy access bus will be running on the trip you are intending to catch.

Who is responsible for bus stops and bus pools maintenance?

Egged exerts all efforts to make the entire trip experience comfortable and pleasant. Maintenance and operation of all bus stops are the responsibility of the local authority, on whose area of jurisdiction they are situated. A passenger can report any damage to a bus stop or shelter by contacting the local authorities.

Do bus drivers have to accept any notes?

As the bus drivers don’t carry much cash on board, they may not accept big notes. According to the rule No. 434 (B) of Transportation Regulations, a passenger can pay a driver the amount that not exceeds the trip cost X 10. For example, if the trip cost is NIS 8.00, bus drivers may not accept NIS 100 note.

How to cancel tickets to Eilat?

  • If you've booked the ticket through the Customer Service Center or website, you can cancel the ticket up to 2 hours before your original departure time through the website. Click to cancel
  • If you've bought the ticket from a cashier at bus station, go to the nearest bus station to make appropriate amendments

If passenger luggage is allowed on board the bus and how much should I pay for?

Passengers may take hand luggage free of charge, according to the list below, if it does not disturb or hurt other passengers:
  • Bag, suitcase or rucksack (should be carried in luggage compartment)
  • Folding wheelchair or baby stroller
  • Carry on luggage such as music instrument, package, box, sack, etc., if it does not disturb or hurt other passengers
  • Narrow luggage such as a wooden pole if its length does not exceed one meter
Charges for Extra Luggage, excluding baby strollers during off-peak hours
  • Passengers shall pay a full ticket fare up to code 4
  • Starting from code 4, passengers shall pay 50% of ticket fare

Are animals allowed on the bus?

Customers are welcome aboard buses with their animal or pet, according to some rules:
  • Guide dogs accompanying blind persons if they are kept on a leash
  • Guide dogs during their training period will not be charged if they board with an instructor. Dogs must wear the vest  “Guide dog in training” (כלב נחיה באימון).
  • Dog's instructor will be charged full fare
  • Dogs, cats, or other small animals, capable of being carried on a passenger’s knee muzzled and on a leash, pets inside a box or a basket if they do not prove to be a nuisance or cause inconvenience to passengers
  • Big animals must wear a muzzle and a leash
